Garfield Builders have carried out all manner of major projects and programmes, from extensive refurbishments, substantial extensions and new build houses, to annually planned works, including replacement kitchens and bathrooms. Securing major works over the years has been through many different procurement methods including design and build, standard tendering, PQQ's, ITT's, and open book contracts.

 

In fact, the largest value project Garfield Builders has ever completed was through an open book contract; a £1.8 million scheme for the NHS at Brookfield Hospital in Cambridge. Garfield Builders were appointed with only a two week lead-in period for works estimated to be in the region of £800,000, to be completed in 4 months. The value ended up being circa £1.8 million, completed in 7 months. Although this was extremely challenging, we were highly commended for the quality and cost control on the project which was completed without affecting other service delivery.
